Founder’s Story

Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, Dasia Thompson developed both creative and analytical instincts. She participated in gifted math and literature programs while writing songs, playing piano, and creating stories and poetry at home. Creativity and structured thinking were part of her life long before she began considering a career.

At 12, Dasia moved with her family to Alpharetta, Georgia. Adjusting to a new environment taught her how to understand different cultures while staying connected to her own identity. The ability to move between perspectives would later shape the way she approached work, business, and collaboration.

At Spelman College, Dasia initially believed she had to choose one path. By her senior year, she was considering marketing, investment banking, and entertainment law. Starting her own magazine introduced her to marketing. Her interest in investing drew her toward business and finance. Entertainment law appealed to her because it connected creativity, law, and transactions.

After law school did not become her immediate next step, Dasia began building experience across industries. Following her 2023 graduation from Spelman, she interned at an entertainment law firm and a global technology company, working in growth marketing and sales. Those experiences showed her that the disciplines she cared about did not have to remain separate. Their overlap was where much of the most meaningful work happened.

Today, Dasia is a Senior Vendor Relations Analyst at a global AI-powered software company. Her work crosses Legal, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, and Privacy. By translating between teams with different priorities and language, she has seen how much execution depends on people understanding one another and recognizing where their challenges overlap.

Her time at an entertainment law firm gave her a close view of the structures surrounding creative work, including contracts, copyright registrations, licensing, and music catalog transactions. Those experiences reinforced that ownership, rights, agreements, and business models influence how intellectual property can be used, protected, and monetized.

Dasia created Arkubit because she kept seeing common ground among artists, innovators, and executives. Each group is building something, and each benefits from understanding the systems, relationships, and resources that make execution possible. Arkubit brings those connections to the forefront through stories, insights, and media.

Her vision is for Arkubit to grow into a network, platform, and set of tools that help people strengthen their ideas and build meaningful leverage around them. Whether the goal is creative expression, innovation, or enterprise, Dasia wants more people to have the knowledge and means to build their own table, take their vision further, and obtain wealth along the way.
